Your Questions, Answered
Starting therapy can bring up questions, especially if you’re used to figuring things out on your own. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Here are a few things you may be wondering as you consider whether therapy is right for you.
-
You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Maybe you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to navigate a new season of life. Maybe you’re noticing patterns you want to change or simply want a space where you can focus on yourself. Therapy can help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, better understand your needs, and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, talk about what brings you to therapy, and begin exploring what you hope to gain from our work together. You can start wherever you feel comfortable and we’ll work together to identify the next steps to getting you feeling like your best self.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. We’ll work on that together. I aim for sessions to be an open space to express how you are feeling and work on what feels most significant to you in the moment.

Therapy looks different for everyone. The length of treatment depends on your goals, circumstances, and the kind of support you’re looking for. We’ll check in along the way about how therapy is feeling and whether our work continues to meet your needs.

Yes. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy for clients receiving services in Wisconsin.
In-person sessions are available at my office in Elm Grove, WI. Virtual sessions provide an opportunity to attend therapy from a private, comfortable space using a HIPPA compliant telehealth platform, subject to applicable location and telehealth requirements.

I am an out-of-network provider. Depending on your insurance plan, you may have out-of-network benefits that reimburse a portion of your therapy costs.
I provide superbills through my secure client portal that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider before beginning therapy to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits, deductible, reimbursement rates, and any requirements for submitting claims.
Please keep in mind that reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan, and payment for sessions is your responsibility.

I’ve chosen to operate as an out-of-network provider to maintain greater flexibility in how I approach therapy and tailor our work to your individual needs and goals.
When using insurance for mental health services, coverage may involve a mental health diagnosis and requirements determined by your insurance plan. Choosing to work out of network can offer more flexibility in how we approach your goals and the direction of our work together.
I understand that cost is an important consideration when choosing a therapist. I do provide discounts in some cases and am happy to discuss during a consultation.

Yes! I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can connect, discuss what brings you to therapy, and determine whether working together might be a good fit. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions about my approach and the therapy process.
You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before reaching out.
